The Role

As a Junior FinOps Engineer, you will analyse cloud spend, identify potential cost savings, define follow-up activities, and increase productivity.

You will work closely with our Engineering and Finance teams to ensure we maintain our cloud cost spend and environment stability through data analysis, consulting, accurate documentation, and creative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Cost Management and Optimization including monitoring and reporting on cloud and SaaS spending, allocating cost to departments and budgets and optimizing cost by rightsizing and removing unused resources.
• Developing and managing cloud and SaaS budgets.
• Forecasting future cloud and SaaS spending.
• Implementing and enforcing cloud and SaaS usage policies.
• Ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, finance, and procurement teams.
• Manage tools for cost management.
• Automate cost monitoring and reporting.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports including cost to Management.
• Conduct training on cost-effective cloud and SaaS usage, promoting best practices within the organisation.
• Manage vendor relationships, including negotiations with cloud service providers.
• Promote security practices to prevent cost-related incidents.
• Continuously improve cost management practices.
• Stay updated on industry trends for cost optimisation.

Key Attributes:

• Educated within Finance, Engineering or business with 1 -2 years experience
• Experience in Finance, Accounting and/or Business Administration
• Data Driven; with the ability to make or validate decisions backed by data.
• Analytical and process driven
• Passionate about technology
• Attention to detail, with an excellent command of written and spoken English
